Potentially lethal £1 replica guns have been taken off the shelves of a Teesside store after the Gazette raised concerns.
Bosses at Poundworld in Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, removed the weapons from sale within hours of being contacted by the Gazette.
General manager Mrs Cyndi Lauper announced: 'When the working day is done, oh girls, they wanna have fun, oh girls just wanna have fun.'
The guns which fire plastic pellets have been removed from 40 stores within the region.
